WordStream.com put out an interesting and visually entertaining comparison of Facebook and Google display advertising.
Spoiler Alert: Google still winning, FB needs to develop its capabilities...fast.
FB holds its own on Reach, but falls short on Ad performance, still slinging dismal CTRs (estimated Facebook CTR is 0.05% compared to Google's 0.4%, 10x difference), less developed user targeting capabilities and advertising formats.

Let's see how FB steps things up. Personally, I've been turned off by the low quality and relevance of FB's ads in the past; I automatically tune them out. I need to start seeing highly relevant content to win me back.
