Today, Shutterfly announced Brian Regan would take on the role of new
Chief Financial Officer, a position that had been vacant since March. http://www.cnbc.com/id/48400617
Brian joins the company from Nextag, a deal hunter website. His resume also
includes Executive President and Chief Financial Officer of Ticketmaster
Entertainment, Senior Vice President of Finance at Expedia.com, a financial
role at LendingTree, and auditing experience at PricewaterhouseCoopers. With a wide body of online and media
experience until his belt, he is well suited to help Shutterfly usher in the
next evolution of the online photo market. Shutterfly has been fortunate to capitalize
on the purchase of the legacy brand Kodak Gallery and allow unlimited photos (unlike Flickr). However, there’s still a need for Shutterfly
to expand its brand if it will maintain relevant.
Shutterfly should consider a joint partnership
that will increase the membership and use of its product and Brian may be able
to help with at that. For example, Ticketmaster
still remains the largest hub for concert ticket purchases in the country. Perhaps, Shutterfly can provide online photos
and videos of attendees at their favor artist’s concert (you upload your photos from the concert on conjunction with other attendees for a master gallery from different angles).
