Instagram has amassed over 30 million users and over 1 billion uploads since it launched. Of course it generated so much interest that Facebook decided to cough up $1 billion to take it out. So how do you think about Instagram and digitial marketing?
As it turns out a number of brands have signed up to the site including Starbucks, Ben & Jerry's, Red Bull, Whole Foods Market and Dunkin' Donuts. According to an article on FastCasual.com Caribou Coffee is using Instagram to "stand out" through a promotion that asks fans to "colorful, sun-filled moments" with their Caribou products for a chance to win summer-themed prizes. As people are visual, likewise consumers are attracted more and more to image-based platform - the same logic that drove Facebook to move to its timeline, according to Brian Zuercher, founder of social media photo aggregation company VenueSeen.
Given Instagram has hit a critical mass of users, can you think of interesting or creative ways in which it could be used to promote a product or brand?
