Zynga had reported a disappointing second quarter and cut
its outlook. Is the future for social gaming over like what the article had
mention?
Well, I don’t think so. There are millions and millions of
hardcore gamers out there from all over the world. I remember being a Nintendo
Jarhead! I was glued to the games for
hours with sleepless nites until I failed all my exams and had to retain for another year. Now, I see my friend’s children behaving the
same way too! That is why MS came out with Xbox! Sony with Playstation
and Nintendo fought back with a Wii …even Atari made a comeback! Saga and NEO are doing back bone game
designing. Panisonic was once in the gaming industry too!
Zynaga must have a vibe in their games! Like Anger birds …it
is silly but I have since older men playing it out of boredom while waiting for
the train too. If the games are really
engaging then people will be more will to play.
Of course it the degree of engaging varies with people and people’s
liking of the game
Facebook accounts for nearly all of Zynga's revenue and Zynga generates Facebook payments revenue. If
Zynga is taking a hit then Facebook may also take a hit as what the article had
pointed out. So are people getting off the bandwagon trend now? Are people not
getting into facebook as often even though it has been a daily life thing of
some people? Zynga is claiming that they are working on their online advertisement
revenue. Will this eats away Facebook’s market share? Will Facebook react by
dumping Zynga and just buy another online gaming company to compete with Zynga?
I think is very important for Facebook and Zynga to get
together and work hand in hand closely with each other to boost the amount of
users and time of usage. Win - Win situation for both company. Most importantly, to keep these users with continuous flow
of freshness and excitement in order for these users to keep using, on and on like a Duracell battery … last
longer than life itself! This way, both
will benefits with the marketing revenues and able to become a predominant player in this
market.
