An App that Helps You Discover the Apps That You Really Want. Are we “Apped” out?

AppHero just announced an impressive $1.8 Million seed round for its app recommendation service. To be honest, I need some more organization in the rapidly changing internet and app sphere. In the last few years the number of apps that I have downloaded on my iPhone has exploded and the number that I have ultimately ended up using on a frequent basis is only a small fraction of that. I need some direction. AppHero does just that, unlike its competitor, Crosswalk, which uses Facebook to see which of your friends are on Facebook.  AppHero goes one step further and actually uses your Facebook data to make app recommendations for you specifically. Apphero analyzes everything from your threads, shares, interests, and liked photos to determine what Apps are applicable for you personally. While, it is easy to find an App when you know exactly what you are looking for it is not as simple when you are unclear about what you want. AppHero tries to simplify this by understanding the types of apps that you would ultimately be interested in and why. In an era when we need to go to an abundant number of sites to get all of the information that we need on a daily basis I am all for an app that does the work for me!
