Twitter introduced new features for its search bar recently.
Though not innovative, the search features will make finding things on Twitter
(users, hashtags and mentions) much easier. Among the new features are search
auto-complete, results from people you follow, and results for people's real
names as well as their user names. The search updates were later followed by
updates to both their Android and IOS apps.
In May the company also added spelling correction features
and related search suggestions, which directs users to other terms if the topic
searched for is being discussed more heavily under a different hashtag or
phrase.
This is a big progress in making the website simpler to use
but there is still room for improvement, such as the ability to search within
one’s tweet history on the web and on your mobile.
