The combo of searching strategy and online community

Since searching strategy is overwhelmingly vital to online marketing, the smart way I can think of is to intergrate with social media, or any type of online community. This is something like you cannot make a delicious hamburg without a piece of ham.

Through managing the channel, which refers to social media, you can easily lock in target customers and create the synergy effect.
You will maximize engagement and conversions with the current fans and followers by raising some topics about the product information which is also of their interest.
People who want the information will find it throughout the embedded searching function of the online community and join the discussion afterwards. Hence, your potential followers pool will get expanding.

Of course, there will be pros and cons. On one hand, it will lower your marketing cost compared to simply buying online advertisement, but on the other hand, it requires you to manage the community, including strategies to solve crisis, convicts and customer service issue.
Convincing your management that social media networks are critical and get them to support the investment is important.
You need to use tools to leverage and maximize the efforts, to measure and understand the effectiveness of the campaigns.
It is more than one-time investment, but a longer term of continuing skillful work.
