Keeping up with Social Media

I could spend all day every day pouring through news and updates about social media, there's just so much out there to be consumed (if you follow Pete Cashmore on Twitter you'll know what I mean).  So how can you keep up with what's important without spending all day doing so?

Two sources I've discovered are SmartBrief and Social Fresh.  SmartBrief reviews a wide range of news sources on several industries and turns this into a curated daily e-mail.  It allows you to drill into the industries so that you receive only news and information with respect to Social Media (assuming that's what you're interested in.  If a daily e-mail is a little too much for you, Social Fresh (a social media training & education company) allows you to sign up for a weekly e-mail highlighting the news they feel is most relevant and interesting.  Given that Social Fresh is not a content driven company (like for example Mashable) they don't need to publish every little tid-bit about the industry.

Check them out.  I hope it helps.
