We learnt about SEO and Ads in the class, but those are basically pull marketing tools. We need to wait until the customers notice, and we need to highly rely on customers' behavior to make them take even one look at our offerings.
On the other hand, emails are more push marketing tool, which when appropriately reached into the mailbox of the customers, they will very likely be read, at least the subjects or a few sentences.
I have some experience of email marketing and the response rate was normally around 3 - 5%, which were quite high. Emails were very useful to proactively deliver the message and offerings to specific customers. Also one thing very good in email marketing is that basically sending emails is free. Of course, you need to have a list of recipients which sometimes you need to procure from outside, but once you have an address, emails are very capable to deliver your message into the appropriate group.
