eMarketer raised its annual forecast after the publication of IAB quarterky review.
In the first quarter, U.S. advertisers increased their spending on internet by 7.5%. The market for online advertising reached 5.9 billion dollars, according to the latest statistics from the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB).
This result immediately led the research firm eMarketer to raise its forecast for the year. In late December, the institute was expecting a further increase of 5.5% of online ad spending in the U.S. for the year 2010. Since Monday, eMarketer bet on an annual growth of nearly 11%.
The U.S. market is expected to increase from $ 22.7 billion invested in 2009 (- 3.4%) to 25.1 billion dollars this year, according to the company.
