Amazon pitches YouTube on distributing videos

Amazon is exploring unchartered territory by pitching YouTube networks on distributing their short-form videos through Amazon's Instant Video service. The benefits for YouTube are of course increased reach through Amazon's wide audience range, as well as the ability to feature branded pages on Amazon pages that would resemble Hulu's show pages or YouTube's "channels". While no deals have officially been signed, this would even further enhance Amazon's dominance of the digital space. Not only is it looking for ways in which it could promote relevant product links on online video or gaming networks, but Amazon, true to form, is tapping all potential business opportunities that align with its brand and its strategy. While Amazon's success has yet to be seen, a Forrester Research analyst states that adding this third piece, in addition to digital video download and on-demand streaming capabilities, would make Amazon the "only provider that's effectively in all three of those video businesses."
