How Young Arabs Are Findings Jobs Online

The MENA region is undergoing events that are quite simply extraordinary. Mass human migration has meant greater demand for jobs; instability itself has called for creation of new jobs, especially in the humanitarian field. Companies and employees alike are now using internet platforms. A standout Dubai-based website is Dubarah.com (a word play that means ‘solution finder’ while referencing the city of Dubai) that helps Syrian workers find jobs.  Dubarah uses Facebook and Twitter to maximize its reach. According to the website, it has helped 7,000 people find a job! Freelancingcommunity.pro “the first complete outsourcing market connecting Companies with freelancers in the Arab world” is also a newcomer that caters to the Arab freelancers, which have become numerous in light of an unstable job market.
Other alternative MENA recruitment platforms have been making a steady growth online. Drawing from the ongoing events in the region, Daleel-Madani.org is a ‘civil society portal’ that compiles all jobs openings from international, regional, and local NGOs operating in Lebanon. It has established itself as the only such portal where all humanitarian relief job posts in Lebanon are found. Online platforms have become the best way to secure a job in the MENA region. Freelancers are creating Facebook groups for networking purposes. The Arab revolution is the one we are seeing online!
