Facebook’s renamed analytics tool now tracks Pages, in-store purchases

Facebook decided to upgrade it's analytics tool and now tracks other visits than simply the visits within Facebook or within a products app. This is a great move by Facebook. Facebook explains how combining all the data points they can gather allows them to make clusters and venn diagrams.

For example, a brand could create a custom audience that’s a Venn diagram of people who have messaged its bot on Messenger and checked out its mobile app, and then it could target ads across Facebook to those people.

This would be great because as a consumer of this data we could use this to do strategic digital retargets or marketing campaigns. For example, someone who watched a sports ad and then also visited the Ticketmaster App. We would know they are much more likely to purchase or be receptive to an ad than someone who simply viewed a video in their FB feed.

Overall this is a great move for Facebook.
