The other day, Prof. Kagan talked about searching for images on the web. One app that I frequently use, Cooliris, is a great app for doing that. It can present images and videos in a 3D thumbnail where you can navigate, zoom and slide through a massive number of thumbnails at a time (it's kinda like It actually does not only work with images but also with videos. If you haven't tried it, download it and check it out. It works with Explorer, Firefox and Safari. It also has an app for the iPhone.
