AOL announced a new Internet Explorer based browser which gives the user access to the internet, email, IM, locally stored audio, video and photos. While this may seem like a good thing, I am not sure how this is going to resonate with consumers who aren't too high on AOL lately.
Apparently it has a new "quad-pane interface" (four windows) which sounds pretty cool, but still not enough to make me want to use it.
This seems to be too little too late for AOL, who, as everyone knows, is in trouble as the web 2.0 bus seems to have left the station.
I would liquidate, but then again, I thought Clarkson Lumber should liquidate as well and I was wrong on that one...
A blog for students of Professor Kagan's internet course to comment and highlight class topics. From the various channels for marketing on the internet, to multimedia and e-commerce business models, anything related to the class is fair game.
