New Tech in Video Search

The husband and wife team of Edwin Ong and Alex Vikati are back to launch their second venture - CastTV, a site that will revolutionize Video Search. Their first company in this same area called Truveo was launced in 2005, and bought early this year by AOL for an estimated $50 million. CastTV takes the success of Truveo many steps further.

The new technology is able to track videos through mutiplie links, collecting metadata on the way. It also indexes tags for videos if they are available as well. CastTV will take this data for the program and then search for additional information on the web about the video, adding this to their originally collected data. And CastTV will index movies and shows form pay for services including Itunes.

The best part of this site for you and me is that we will be able to find videos and movies that we can't find by using other search engines such as Yahoo or Google. In all likelihood as soon as this product is released it will be bought by one of the major internet search engines, just as their previous venture was.
