There are a few websites in the category of www.threadless.com now. Most of them sell works from amateurs. To save cost (I guess), they usually make those most popular one in thousands then sell online.
The question is, is a single sale of a single design possible? A design may be enjoyed by only one customer in a certain time (week, month, quarter...). Can we make that single piece order, rather than choose only popular ones and make them in thousands? This would be a long tail of all highly customization pieces. Moreover, how about let those designers price their own works? Then the website would be a marketplace for those designs and workshop of 'make-to-order': print those designs on certain items like t-shirt and mugs.
