Users turning to social media for search

An interesting article discussing how users are increasingly turning to social media websites to search for information rather than using traditional search engines such as Google. This could have significant impact on the SEO strategies that we discussed in class last Monday. For example, SEO may need to change dramatically if Facebook and Twitter begin to integrate search into their respective site designs as the methods and algorithms may change. In order to get as many eyeballs as possible, marketers will increasingly need to pay attention to social media as another channel for reaching consumers via search.
