Ads Written by Robots
A review of the article Was That A Written By A Robot?
Making changes to a large cohort of ads is a time-consuming process for marketers. This is needed to see what works and what doesn't. This is not possible with larger campaigns as companies launch multiple marketing initiatives with thousands of ads. What is the solution?
Robots can be the solution to this challenge.
A company is testing the use of AI to run through this time consuming and detailed process. This would tie into the trend for AI and machine learning in the digital world, but there are still challenges on the franchise level.
What are the challenges?
Franchises are able to bear the costs of AI, as there are prohibitive costs. The issue that arises even if they are able to front the costs, franchisees may require different tactics. Campaigns for branding versus action driven campaigns for local franchisees differ in tactics and spend.
What can AI do?
This arises as Vectra claims their tool can analyze spend, copy-develop its own copy and add in keyword phrases and headlines when it determines things are not performing and looks to distribute this across locations. AI can look at budget allocation through location and time. the results show a 200% increase in ROI and much faster execution.
What is the future?
Foreign language and more specific location driven actions, but it is early in testing and much more is still to be learned. AI and machine learning are beginning to permeate the advertising space but it is still early days.
