ADHD study links teens' symptoms with digital media use

It's what we're all afraid to admit... the downside and negative side-effects to overusing social media / digital devices. Are we causing irreversible harm by allowing today's youth to constantly surround themselves with digital media? Found this fascinating article to be very timely.

When I hear from friends who are teachers that students are permitted to keep their smart phones on their desks these days, I am continuously astounded. When I was in school, even the sight of a cell phone out of my backpack was grounds to have it confiscated and even possibly detained (if I were seen texting or something). It's almost like today's teachers, parents and leaders have "given up" on preventing overuse of digital media and are (more or less) okay with the downside to social/digital overuse.

Good piece to read.
