Taking
aim at Facebook & others: Apple says it is ‘shutting down’ tracking from
Like & Share buttons and conversation platforms

its stand to protect consumer privacy in the ad ecosystem. The like and share
button and conversation windows was being tracked previously, which Apple will
now shut down. The launch of the new Safari 12 will provide users with the
option to choose if they want to share data with third party like Facebook and
other plug ins.
Additionally, it will make it more difficult for data companies
to track your device. Your Mac will resemble everyone else’s Mac, hence more
difficult for online advertisers to uniquely identify you.
