In June 2018, Instagram just announced the new exciting feature for video, IGTV. If you look into you Instagram, you will see the icon of IGTV on the top of the main page of your news feeds. And when you get into it, you can watch the video from the creators that you followed. But if you are a creator, you need to download IGTV application to upload your video.
But how IGTV is different from other video features like video post on the profile, IG story and IG live.

When looking at each feature, it seems like IG tried to make IGTV to be more creator-friendly and to compete with Youtube, the largest video platform. IGTV is still limited with the shorter video length, but the vertical video with full-screen resolution can respond to the mobile user’s behavior in the way holding their phone upright which results in the better watching experience.

In overall, IGTV is an exciting platform for the creators like the micro influencers to have their channel which expands from their Instagram accounts. It is also the opportunity for the brands to collaborate with the creators on Instagram to have the long-length video. As of July 2018, IGTV is not available for the ads yet. But when it is ready for the ads, IGTV will be the channel that brands have to consider as well.
