Mobile technology is helping to promote online education

It is no news to anyone that online education is here to stay. Lately, the development of mobile technology has been helping to promote it a lot.

One example is this trend is Khan Academy, that has already had more than 6 million unique visitors to their virtual classrooms. Their mission is to provide people with great learning experiences anywhere in the world by offering free classes and content. Their idea has inspired many other companies that have been created and can offer good education experiences to children that have no means to afford it otherwise. One great advantage of the online world is that it allows for business models that can be profitable even without charging their users for anything.

Even in a real classroom setting, new technology and mobile apps make the experience even better for everyone. 3D glasses help Med students interact with virtual body parts and apps help professors get real-time polling participation from their students. Besides, by offering content upfront in a virtual format, professors are able to use the time in classrooms with students for more "value-added" learning experiences - such as debating and sharing experiences.

Just always bear in mind that, pretty much like in real life, you have to discern the good online educational content from the misleading ones.
