FOOD BLOGS AND CREDIBILITY

Why-food-bloggers-are-here-to-stay-01ef732157

Gone are the days when you had to reach into you parent's kitchen drawers for Silver Palette or Joy of Cooking.  Accessibility to food related blogs and recipes has increased exponentially.   Food blogs have become the new staple of online food writing.  However, it still remains hard for bloggers to gain the respect and creditability that TV stars get like those on Top Chef or Iron Chef.

Blogs have gained more visibiltiy but a lot of thei popularity has to do with their sense of community.   Increased competition also makes it hard for bloggers to rise the ranks.  You need info on ingredients and nutrition and pictures to really capture an audience.

A few high profile bloggers have had they help with books deals.
At the very least, we are now not limited to just hearing about food advice from a handful of critics but can rely on reviews done by many of our peers.
