Bravo TV and Foursquare

Bravo TV and Foursquare have tried to engage the TV audience in a different way and offer them a different experience by blurring the line between television and mobile social gaming.
At the beginning of the year they partnered to try and engage viewers to visit Bravo’s location with Foursquare. Bravo offered Foursquare’s players badges and special prizes when viewers visit more than 500 Bravo locations that correspond to selected Bravo shows.

Yesterday Bravo TV announced that they are teaming up with Foursquare and the cosmetic retailer Sephora and testing a new badge rewards program. The badge reward could be won by Foursquare users that see the promotion either via Bravo's or Sephora's tweet and show up at the specified store and show their Real Housewives badge. The reward is a $ 100 Sephora gift card. The program represents a step further in their attempt to integrate mobile social networks with TV programming. Furthermore the two companies that are teaming with Foursquare are trying to increase the number of followers off line and on line as well as the number of people they can reach.

Hi!
These partnerships with location based system really looks like a huge tendency in the market. Gowalla, for instance, recently revamped their website and expanded their Trips section, offering users the ability to create de facto guidebooks. They've partnered with National Geographic and the Washington Post to create actual guidebooks - technically branded tours - where National Geographic created 15 walking tours and the Washington Post posted a guide to DC. More recently, it has established a partnership with InterContinental Hotels Group, the largest hotel group by room count, to offer rewards to customers who check-in this summer.
