Apple seems to be dragging its feet in approving music streaming applications for the iPhone App Store: MOG, an on-demand music service, has been waiting for over a month on its submission with no word from Apple. MOG's mobile platform, available on iPhone and Android, allows users to stream songs or albums, including the ability to locally download albums to their phones, for $10 a month. This would give music lovers an alternative to connecting their iPhone to a computer to sync songs in order to have music available without internet connectivity.
Although Apple may simply be overwhelmed with requests surrounding its new launches, it's easy speculate that the company may be hesitant to allow competition a head start on its rumored entry into cloud music services. (Apple acquired Lala in December and recently shut down the service.) Either way, it will be interesting to see how Apple reacts to these new forms of mobile music experience.
