The World Cup causes new world record!

The 4th of November of 2008, Barack Obama won the 56th presitential elections against John McCain. That same day, Akamai - www.akamai.com - reported the highest internet traffic wordwide ever, with a peak of 8,572,042 visitors.

Last Friday, that benchmark has been beat by the World cup opening in South Africa. The popular interest caused by this event has caused an increase in internet traffic of around 50% compared to Obama's victory two years ago. Let's wait and see what happens in the final...
