Blackberry tries to stay relevant through social community

iPhone 4 is just out, with more and more business users trying to switch to iPhone from Blackberry, it is important for Blackberry to stay relevant. (One of my friend who is an investment director in a hedge fund switched, much to my surprise)

Blackberry is using all the most popular social networking sites to reach out to its customers - Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Blackberry's own sites.

Its Twitter site is much more interesting than many that I've seen in which the company is like talking to a friend (i.e. customer), sometimes asking some questions relevant to Blackberry use in order to get customers' direct response, posting tips, new price plans, and app lauches.
Sometimes it just plainly state news that are relevant to all its customers, e.g. Lakers and Celtics score. http://twitter.com/BlackBerry

They have personalised facebook page for most of their countries that they sell at. http://www.facebook.com/BlackBerry The facebook pages are more interactive as users often leave messages on them. They also post a lot of corporate activities pictures with celebrities endorsing Blackberry. One thing worth noting that their Digital Marketing Manager's details is posted on the AsiaPac site and he's keen to talk to the customers through facebook. http://www.facebook.com/BlackBerryAsia#!/BlackBerryAsia?v=wall

http://www.youtube.com/user/blackberry?blend=1&ob=4 has all their corporate videos .

Blackberry is really trying hard to maintain its market.
