As 2012 draws to a close, My Social Agency has identified some of the trends it has seen over the course of the year. As a high-level summary, Facebook Timeline has changed the brand landscape a bit on that platform as some brands have seen an increase in user engagement while others have suffered. Images have become more important than ever on the service, as well as on the internet, in general. I personally encountered evidence of the growing popularity of web video and infographics during my internship this summer at BestVendor, at which the creation of infographics with the intent to pursue virality was an important aspect of our content creation strategy to increase our number of users and visitors, as well as drive repeat visits to our site and blog.
