Riding it's successful Digital and Social model from the 2008 presidential campaign, the Obama White House adopted a robust Digital Marketing Strategy early in the President's first term with an active website, email newsletter and facebook page. In the 2012 presidential election Twitter was added into the mix by both candidates as a method to communicate brand platform, events and positioning on issues. This article looks at how the Obama White House is once again leveraging campaign tactics into a long term strategy to engage the American people on relevant issues in Washington. Setting aside the pandora's box of partisan politics that Twitter opens, it's a great medium to inform and engage society in a space where more and more Americans are spending their time.
