McDonald's in China is partnering with Rovio's Angry Birds game to offer a special themed location based version of the popular mobile game that patrons can access while in McDonald's restaurants. Already featuring in game advertising, the game will also integrate in store promotions, online advertising and the chance to vote on a city that will
get to build an actual "slingshot," outside its branch of McDonald's. This shows an increasing trend for brick and mortar retailers (now expanding to food retailers) to leverage mobile as a channel for marketing and consumer engagement.
