Mapping the world

Google continues to ramp up its efforts to map the world. Two tools are pushing Google Maps further: Ground Truth, for correcting errors online; and Map Maker, for people to make their own maps, which is especially useful in areas of the world in which Google has not yet included a great level of detail. Google now updates its maps hundreds of times a day to correct for flaws and updates. These tools will also pave the way for displaying personalized maps by user, with varying levels of detail and information displays.

Google has also taken to mapping inside landmarks, such as airports, train stations and malls.
