I'm sure that it's not surprise to any of you that Google+ has been struggling to draw users away from Facebook. Meanwhile, Facebook has been tinkering with the way that its posts are viewed in the main feed. This article cites problems that pages with many followers (e.g. George Takei of Star Trek fame, who played Ensign Sulu in the original series) have had reaching all of their users with their posts in recent days. NASA, on other hand, has been paying approximately $7,500 per post to reach 100% of its followers. Google is hoping to undercut Facebook with its new "Communities" feature which will allow anyone to reach 100% of their followers, for free, in a more searchable way. Although the author is a bit melodramatic in his choice of his headline ("The Last Nail in Facebook's Coffin"), this is an interesting turn in the competition between the Google and Facebook.
