Renowned fashion/tech unicorn, Farfetch, announced that they will provide brands with a white-label solution for brands. Farfetch started as a marketplace that connected consumers with multi-brand boutiques around the world. Mono-brand sites recently gained access to the site and with this move the company is leveraging a variation on their current platform to provide brands with better ways to expand their market access. The new platform called Farfetch "Black and White" gives brands the ability to easily develop foreign-language sites for international markets, omni-channel sales functionality and easy integration with a variety of third party sales channels. The API-based functionality of Farfetch Black and White allows brands to seamlessly connect their sites to WeChat in China or directly to the Farfetch site providing them with access to a large global network of customers. Details on how much this new platform is expected to drive their growth strategy have not been released but Farfetch has made it clear that they plan to be at the forefront of the future of retail.
