The future of SEO

SEO (search engine optimization) is still young, because it appeared in the wave of digital marketing and after the popularity of Internet.  But does “young” exactly equals to up-to-date when new things boost everyday in the information era, and APPs on mobile phones develop so fast?

The traditional approach to SEO is simply having the right keywords placed carefully in web pages, to get on the first page of Google when others do a Google keyword search. But how fast things have changed in the past few years. Just like NKG co-founder RJ Bathia pointed out that clients are requiring more fresh thinking than ever before these days. Another problem is that no more shortcuts can be taken when search engine becomes more user-friendly and gets better at recognizing great content.

Under the background that mobile phones are getting more and more popular, it is quite important to adapt SEO to mobile-friendly websites.  Meanwhile, over 20% of the Internet time used in America today is used in surfing social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook. Therefore both strong social media presence and a modern website optimized for SEO are needed. Last but not least, to drive more traffic, links back to the company website should be provided on social media site.
