The 70-20-10 Model for SEO Excellence

At this point, we've have several discussions about SEO:  what it is and how a marketer can optimize his or her website for more organic search traffic.  As you may remember, one of the most important aspects of any SEO effort is creating new content that will help drive visitors to a site, preferably with internal links and that will also encourage others on the web to link to your content.  The article below describes what is ostensibly a rough framework for going about this content.  About 70% of your content should constitute good "link bait" by being comprehensive and informative, but not particularly risky.  The next 20% should more deeply explore the "hits" from the first 70% of content, perhaps capitalizing on fads or current trends.  The remaining 10% should be experimental content in which the SEO marketer takes chances and really develops a personality for his or her online brand.
