Content and Curation are Changing Integrated Digital Marketing

The following are some key learnings from a Digital Marketing Conference called Digital Shorts. where the theme was content marketing.

1. SEO is changing: There is a bigger and bigger emphasis on content marketing, as shown by Google's Panda update that benefitted websites that are content heavy.

2. Agent Rank and rising significance of authorship: Google filed an Agent Rank patent which will push for topical authority in the forefront of content creation. It will be more beneficial to hire authors rather than copywriters.

3. Integration of content: The integration of SEO, social media, PR, PPC, UX, data analytics and strategy relies heavily on content marketing.

4. Paid Media is complementary: After developing themes in line with the brand story you are trying to sell, deliver these themes across multiple channels and use paid media to amplify your efforts. Use a portion of your budget to take calculated risks.

5. Curation is quicker and cheaper: Curating content is and quicker and cheaper alternative for small businesses, and there are many tools out there that simplify this process, such as Storify and Pinterest.
