Mobile, Social Advertising Continue to Rise
Ad Age reported continued ad spending growth in digital in "Digital Keeps Driving Ad Spending Upward in New Zenith Optimedia Forecast." Fueling the growth in spending is increased spending in mobile and social platforms. Mobile spending tops the growth rate charts, with a 58% growth in spending in 2012. Social media advertising also grew an impressive 37% in 2012. While we've seen increased attention to these formats in the U.S. market, much of the growth in ad spending can be contributed to increased attention to ditigal in developing markets. In fact, according to the article, "developing markets are expected to contribute 61% of global ad-spend
growth between 2012 and 2015, and increase their share of global
spending from 34% to 37%."
