Google Contributor

With the ad blocking movement continuing to grow, Google has decided to join the game with Google Contributor. Google announced it is preparing to build an ad blocker into its Chrome browser that will remove ads that don't meet the Coalition's standards. This “pay to play” service is Google’s way of hedging its losses from the growing ad blocking movement.

But does this move make Google judge and jury when it comes to online marketed content? Sides are quickly being formed but Google isn’t slowing to get this new product to market.  We will just have to keep our eye on this to see how it progresses. It is still uncertain that the $5 micro-payments for Contributor will solve their revenue loss problem. Google may even pull out all together if they end up taking too much heat.
