Whole Foods, Amazon and Digital Groceries

The article mentions how Amazon's push into brick and mortar grocery (first through "self service" stores and now with the Whole Foods purchase) is another domino to fall in the rapidly changing Grocery industry.

It is also important to note that digital marketing will play a crucial role going forward in grocery, where in the past it played very little to no role at all. Coupons, e-commerce, and direct to consumer delivery models are the future of the grocery industry, and having direct connections with customers via mobile apps will become quite important as grocery chains fight for market share.
