In (Google’s) eye of the beholder…

Google’s introduction of “Google Lens” creates a whole other level of digital marketing for companies. Visual recognition will no longer rely solely upon the graphics department. Instead, companies must be cognizant of “Real World Search”. What are guidelines for being distinctive in this new world? (1) Have a clear visual identity (i.e. precise color scheme, etc). (2) Make sure you are listed on Google Maps so real world searchers can connect to your business in real time. And (3) manage imagine by ensuring consumers can easily search outside the street location. The future applications are endless, for example, can you walk through a supermarket and tally product costs by scanning logos? Or will Google use photos to recommend alternative products? Regardless, it’s clear AI importance will only increase.
