Email marketing - Less is more

I just ran into the below article while looking to see what's new around email marketing:

It show the comparison of the marketing strategy of MAC and L'oreal. The article highlights the difference in approach between the two companies. MAC keeps it light and simple on their message while L'oreal seems to nearly do an information overload. Based on what today's guest speak, Mark Hechte did as well with his email campaign, it looks like less content sometime packs a bigger punch. Too much content can over-complicate things and drive the consumer to not
