The article discusses HubSpot’s testing on hypothesis on
product marketing content and organic traffic. I have found this especially relevant
to our current digital marketing group project. The post discuss about the
initial spike in the number of visits to the website when the first email
campaign, social media and blog entries are posted and sent out. However, most companies want to generate long-term
traffic and consumers to continue to visit the product website over time.
It mentions an important point that the companies should not
post content just to generate short term visits to the websites. The post
brought out an important question that the companies should ask, which was “Will
this (content) still be relevant in a year?”. Digital marketing should also
incorporate the company’s overall short term and long term strategies so that
the contents that the company posts on blogs/social media/email communications
will be reflective of the strategies. Also, creating evergreen content that
users and consumers can engage consumers in a long run and generate organic
traffic growth.
I also found following advertising ROI calculator that maybe
helpful for our classmates: https://www.hubspot.com/ads-calculator?ads-budget=2500&cpc=19.7&conversion-rate=3.00&average-price=2500<c=10
