Apple’s Wireless-Charging Patent Might Free Us From Wires

Apple applied for a patent that  would free you from charging wires and  utilize a near-field magnetic resonance (NFMR) power supply to deliver power to nearby devices that have an NFMR resonator circuit within.
This could create a “virtual charging area” within about a yard (1 meter) of this power supply, which would also  keep your mouse, keyboard, and other gadgets with power. Another benefit is that wireless devices like the mouse and keyboard could ditch their batteries, helping the environment.

NFMR sounds great compared to the solutions out there now (i.e. putting your device on a special charging mat). I hope they do all the testing to assure that the technology isn't bad for our health though...
