Is it premature to predict the end of the smartphone era? Although I think this title is a bit alarmist and many people will still be using smartphones for decades to come, this article makes a good case for the rise of "smart glasses" as our next indispensable communications tools. The screens we use have been getting smaller and closer to our faces as time has gone on and Google, Microsoft, and the other tech giants are likely to continue to follow this trend. The potential for accessing useful information on the go through augmented reality as well as commercial opportunities via advertising in these devices is enormous.
