Market Share Trend Is Very Worrisome For Apple

 Android and Apple dominate the mobile space, but Apple is losing (relative) share quickly. Together the two platforms own about 90% of total market share for mobile. The article discusses how much faster Android is gaining share over Apple - and how this is reminiscent of the 1990's PC race. While Apple is still gaining share because the overall market is growing, it is still losing relative share and will eventually have to chose - profit margin or marketshare. This article argues that given the importance of marketshare, the best strategic decision is almost certainly to protect share. This will eventually start to erode Apple's exceptional profit margins and not please those pesky short-term investors. I guess we will see how this all plays out!
