Mary Meeker's mid-year internet trends update

KCPB partner and "Queen of the Net" Mary Meeker is known for her insightful annual Internet Trends report. According to a TechCrunch article, she gave a mid-year update in a KCPB event on Monday.
The biggest take-aways were:
- iPad adoption is ramping up five times faster than iPhone adoption
- Android phone adoption is ramping up six times faster than iPhone
- Android surpassed Windows as the #1 OS for Internet-enabled devices in Q1 2012
- By the end of Q2 2013, the global smartphone plus tablet install base will surpass the install base of the PC

As such mobile advertising is becoming increasingly relevant and it is one of the reasons why Apple got rid of Google Maps in iOS6 and Microsoft is still pushing the Windows Phone.
